Come be part of nature’s healing!

We are looking to train volunteer camp Cooks and camp Hosts to join us for our 2024 white water rafting weekends.

Where: Camp Lotus, Lotus CA
When: Sat, June 1st & Sun, June 2nd

Since 1996, Healing Waters has empowered and enriched the lives of people living with chronic issues through white water rafting adventures. But we are much more than just a rafting company. Each weekend our team of dedicated volunteers creates an island of safety for clients to feel at home and flourish.  Nature gives us the chance to find ourselves again - find our inner courage.  And as the world gets crazier - we’re going to need it now more than ever.

As a volunteer camp host you will be shaping the participant experience. You will be the support a client needs while on a Healing Waters weekend adventure. You will be providing material items like tents, sleeping pads, and sleeping bags or simply lending a sympathetic ear to someone who has never been out of the city overnight. As a volunteer camp cook, you will be creating tasty and healthy meals that keep everyone fed.

Healing Waters' initiative can only be sustained with the help of volunteers who can commit to a minimum of two weekends this summer. Our programs take place in beautiful Camp Lotus on the South Fork of the American River, approximately two hours from San Francisco. We provide transportation (if needed), delicious food, tents, sleeping pads, and sleeping bags. We also provide all the necessary training free of charge.

You, the Volunteer provide the great attitude.

The process for training as a Volunteer Camp Host or Camp Cook is in two parts:

  1. Online Orientation:  Thursday, May 23, 2024 @ 7:00 p.m. to 8:00 p.m.

  2.  Cook & Host Training Weekend (aka COR): Camp Lotus, June 1 & 2

You can also receive earlier training during our Raft Guide Training weekends in April! You are invited to come help feed the raft guide trainees!
