Join us this Spring! Experience the satisfaction of not only guiding a paddle team through rapids, but of learning a new skill that will allow you to open up a new world for people living with HIV and AIDS.

Healing Waters is conducting a whitewater Guide School for individuals who are interested in learning how to become paddle-raft guides on Class III rivers. Over the course of our school you will learn the skills required to safely navigate a boatload of passengers downstream. We will teach you about hydraulics, ferry angles and safety talks. You will learn how to scout rapids, read water and get downstream without too many unplanned stops.

We will accept a
maximum of twelve students in our Guide School to insure highly individualized attention and are especially looking for individuals who enjoy spending time outdoors and playing in the water and who are interested in contributing back to Healing Waters as a volunteer in the future. Previous rafting experience is not a requirement to attend Guide School.

The deadline for registration for the Spring 2009 Guide School is March 4.

For more information, schedule and costs, please contact the Guide School coordinator at
